An individual was hospitalized after a shooting incident in Ventura's west end early on August 4. Ventura Police Department officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Riverside and Ramona streets around 1:10 a.m. in response to reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located an injured person who was subsequently transported to Ventura County Medical Center. The victim's medical condition was not disclosed as of the morning of August 4. The suspect had already left the area before law enforcement arrived at the scene.
This incident follows another violent event in the same neighborhood approximately two weeks prior. On July 18, a 34-year-old woman was shot and killed near West Ramona and Olive Streets, leading to the arrest of a 52-year-old man.
