Vegas Woman Arrested for Serial Marriage Scams

Jiaying Chen, 33, was apprehended on June 4, 2026, in Las Vegas, accused of orchestrating elaborate marriage fraud schemes. Detectives linked her name to multiple scams targeting unsuspecting men.
Court documents revealed that Chen allegedly entered into five marriages within a few months this year alone. Furthermore, since 2019, she is suspected of obtaining 14 marriage certificates under her own name and her alias, Vicky Liang.
Victims reported that Chen would quickly propose marriage, invent stories about sick family members in China, and request large sums of money. Once funds were received, she would cease all communication. One man reported being asked for $40,000, another $23,000.
Authorities set up surveillance after receiving a tip that Chen was planning to meet someone to discuss marriage. She was apprehended at a restaurant, allegedly possessing a fraudulent passport and a fake Nevada driver's license.
Chen faces five felony counts of bigamy and two counts of intent to utter a fictitious bill/note/check. She is currently held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 29, 2026.
