Upon returning to his rental property near Vegas Drive and Buffalo Drive, two unknown men forced their way inside. They tackled Griener, restrained him with duct tape, and demanded his backpack, which held about $45,000 in cash and $1,000 sunglasses.
During the robbery, the assailants placed dishes on Griener's back, warning that they would break if he moved. Griener managed to escape his restraints after the men left and sought assistance from a neighbor, who then called 911.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the incident. While Griener sustained minor soreness, he did not require hospitalization. An Airbnb spokesperson confirmed the company has fully refunded Griener's stay and is cooperating with law enforcement.
