In Varanasi, a contentious argument over an auto fare led to a fatal stabbing. The auto driver, identified as Mahesh Yadav, was reportedly attacked with a paper blade by the accused, Vishnu Yadav, near Madhuban Lawn. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the BHU Trauma Centre.
Following the incident, Vishnu Yadav attempted to evade capture, initially hiding in a shop before heading to his nearby residence. A police team confronted him at his house, but he resisted arrest, brandishing a knife and later snatching a police pistol. During a subsequent exchange, Vishnu fired at officers, prompting a retaliatory shot that struck him in the leg. He was apprehended and subsequently taken to the Trauma Centre for treatment.
