According to police reports, Ghanshyam, who was reportedly intoxicated, had sought money from his mother to purchase liquor. When Shiela Devi refused his demand, a heated argument ensued, leading Ghanshyam to allegedly strike her on the head with an iron rod, resulting in her immediate death.
Manduadih police have apprehended Ghanshyam and have taken possession of the iron rod believed to be the murder weapon. The investigation into the fatal incident is ongoing.
