In Chandauli, Varanasi, police have apprehended Nabi Rasul, aged 25, in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor girl. The incident began on March 7 when the victim disappeared from Assi Ghat after accompanying her brother. Her father reported her missing to Bhelupur police after a frantic search.
Before the girl was located, her father received a threatening phone call indicating his daughter was taken and would be forcibly converted and married. The victim was later found unconscious on March 8, allegedly after being drugged and sexually assaulted by Rasul. Police investigations revealed the two had connected via Instagram.
Rasul reportedly abandoned the girl at her residence after police began searching his potential hideouts. The girl subsequently disclosed the details of her captivity and assault. The accused also allegedly took videos and photos of the victim during the ordeal. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities focusing on the forced conversion attempt and the procurement of evidence.
