Liquor tycoon's aide fires on manager over Rs 8.66 lakh dues

A liquor trader from Lucknow was allegedly subjected to threats, assault, and a shooting incident in Varanasi. The motive stemmed from an unpaid debt of Rs 8.66 lakh owed to his firm for liquor supplies to two shops in Varanasi. These shops are reportedly operated under the names of Radhika, the mother of jailed aide Vaibhav Jaiswal, and Shivangi, Vaibhav's wife.

Vaibhav Jaiswal, who has been in district jail since April, is accused of orchestrating the attack after the manager, Arvind Kumar Jaiswal, demanded the outstanding payments. The complainant stated that Vaibhav used his connection to his brother, Shubham Jaiswal, a fugitive codeine cough syrup smuggling kingpin, to issue threats and obstruct payment.

Arvind alleged that on March 25, Vaibhav, along with Shivangi and Radhika, held him captive and assaulted him. The following day, an alleged attempt was made to kill him by firing a shot as he tried to escape. Investigations into these serious allegations are currently underway by Manduadih police.

Shubham Jaiswal, still at large, is a central figure in a multi-crore codeine cough syrup smuggling case. Authorities believe Shubham and his jailed father, Bhola Prasad Jaiswal, laundered illicit earnings from this operation through the liquor business. Bhola reportedly acquired English liquor shops via lottery in the names of women, including Vaibhav's mother and wife. Vaibhav allegedly managed the hawala transactions, transferring income from these shops to Shubham.
