A fatal argument over parking privileges in Vadodara's Jashoda Colony led to the murder of 40-year-old Anup Patel on Tuesday night. Patel, who was visiting relatives, became embroiled in a dispute with Rahul Yadav at a birthday party, reportedly over car parking. The initial confrontation involved Patel taking Yadav's car keys and a slap, but it escalated when Yadav later returned with Manu and Subhash Yadav.
During the subsequent attack, the accused trio allegedly assaulted Patel as he attempted to flee. They also reportedly attacked local residents who tried to intervene. Patel sought refuge in his relative Sushila Patel's house, but was violently struck against a steel door. Sushila Patel also claimed to have been assaulted when she tried to protect Patel.
Following the incident, Patel was found injured and was transported to SSG Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Makarpura police swiftly registered a murder complaint and apprehended Rahul, Manu, and Subhash Yadav on Wednesday. An investigation is underway to determine if the motive was solely the parking dispute or if an older feud existed.
