A 26-year-old man, Olaolukitan Adon Abel, is accused of a series of random, violent attacks in Georgia that resulted in two fatalities and one critical injury. Authorities have characterized these acts as "pure evil" and motiveless.
Abel, who became a US citizen and joined the Navy in 2020, grew up in a middle-class London household. His father is a former British police officer. Abel served with a Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron in California but left the military in disgrace in 2024 after a conviction for assaulting police officers and attacking another person.
His alleged crime spree began early on April 18, 2026, with the fatal shooting of Prianna Weathers outside a restaurant. He then allegedly shot a homeless man sleeping outside a supermarket. Later, he is accused of fatally stabbing and shooting Lauren Bullis as she walked her dog.
In addition to the recent charges, court records from June 2025 indicate Abel pleaded guilty to four misdemeanor counts of sexual battery in Georgia. He was arrested in Troup County and faces multiple charges, including malice murder and aggravated assault.
