- Police seized cash and ornaments from the accused after a tip-off.

The Uttar Pradesh Police have successfully dismantled a 'looteri dulhan' (fraud bride) gang responsible for extorting money and jewellery from families shortly after wedding ceremonies. On Friday, Dhanpatganj police arrested four individuals, three of whom were women, and confiscated cash and ornaments.
The gang's modus operandi involved using forged identities to arrange marriages and gain the trust of families. Following the wedding ceremonies, the bride and her accomplices would demand additional money. When resisted, they resorted to threats of false criminal cases, including human trafficking and rape allegations.
