The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has dismantled an organized racket that facilitated cheating during the UPSSSC Assistant Boring Technician Main Examination, conducted on July 12. Thirteen individuals, encompassing candidates, facilitators, and alleged solvers, were apprehended in simultaneous operations in Prayagraj and Varanasi.
The investigation revealed a sophisticated operation where a Prayagraj-based gang utilized concealed micro-electronic devices to transmit answers to candidates during the examination. These devices were reportedly hidden within candidates' clothing and ears. The gang promised selection in exchange for substantial sums, with one candidate disclosing a payment of Rs 5 lakh.
STF teams seized four electronic cheating devices, mobile phones, printers, admit cards, question papers, and OMR sheets. While the alleged kingpins, Shivjeet Patel and Rajendra Yadav, managed to escape, search operations are ongoing. Cases have been registered, and further investigations aim to uncover broader involvement in other competitive examinations.
