Ten years have passed since Terri "Missy" Bevers, 45, was discovered deceased inside the Creekside Church in North Texas. As of April 15, 2026, her murder remains an active investigation by the Midlothian Police Department. Investigators affirm their commitment to identifying the responsible party and providing answers to the Bevers family and the community.
Bevers was found on the morning of April 18, 2016, by a participant of the fitness bootcamp she was scheduled to host. The cause of death was determined to be a head wound. At the time, no family, friends, or co-workers were considered suspects.
A key piece of evidence is a video showing a suspect dressed in what appeared to be tactical gear, including a helmet and vest, inside the church. The suspect, described as 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall with lighter skin, broke glass but stole nothing, not even Bevers' wedding ring.
Despite over a decade passing, the Midlothian Police Department states the case is not considered cold. They actively review all credible tips, including over 100 leads reviewed in the past year alone, and leverage advancements in forensic technology. They have dispelled claims of refusing outside help or ruling out individuals. Information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Ellis County or directly to the Midlothian Police Department.
