TV Star Arrested in Multicrore Cheating Scandal

Jay Dudhane, a runner-up on a Marathi television reality show, was apprehended by Vartak Nagar Police at Mumbai airport on Sunday. The arrest stems from an alleged cheating case involving Rs 4.6 crore, with Dudhane detained as he prepared to travel with his family. Investigators claim Dudhane and his family attempted to sell five commercial shops in Gandhinagar, despite the properties being mortgaged to a bank.

The complainant reportedly agreed to purchase the shops in March 2024 for Rs 4.9 crore, making payments totaling Rs 3.2 crore by May 2024. Following Dudhane's father's death in June 2024, communication ceased. The complainant further paid an additional Rs 1.3 crore after Dudhane allegedly assured the bank loan was cleared.

However, Dudhane later reportedly admitted the loan remained unpaid, demanding another Rs 55 lakh to prevent seizure. The complainant also accused Dudhane of producing forged documents to falsely claim the mortgage was cleared. Dudhane has stated he was unaware of any lookout circular against him.
