17 Mar
Summary
- Psychic John Starkey pleaded guilty to three sexual assault charges.
- Assaults occurred during clairvoyant sessions and readings.
- He faces a custodial sentence, according to the judge.

A television psychic, John Starkey, 74, has admitted to three charges of sexual assault against two women. Starkey, who purports to have appeared on several television programs including ITV's This Morning, changed his plea at Mold Crown Court in North Wales. The offences occurred between April 2018 and October 2022.
The prosecution outlined that Starkey was first investigated following a complaint of sexual assault in Wolverhampton in 2018. A subsequent assault occurred in London, where the victim was tricked into a private session. A more recent assault took place in a shop in Llandudno in 2022, leading to the original investigation being reopened. DNA evidence was found linking Starkey to his first victim.
Judge Rhys Rowlands warned Starkey that a custodial sentence is the likely outcome and adjourned sentencing to next month. Starkey was granted bail on the condition he signs the Sex Offenders' Register immediately. His defense indicated they would seek a full medical report.
