Duane "Keffe D" Davis, 63, has been sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in prison for orchestrating the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur. Prosecutors successfully argued that Davis, a former gang leader, was the mastermind behind the crime, even though he did not fire the fatal shots himself. This incriminating evidence, initially revealed in a 2008 police interview, ultimately led to his arrest and conviction.
During the sentencing hearing, Tupac's siblings, Sekyiwa and Maurice Shakur, spoke about the enduring pain caused by his death and urged the judge to impose the maximum sentence. Judge Carli Kierny emphasized the gravity of taking a life, stating that Davis could not "just walk away from it." Davis has indicated his intention to appeal the verdict.
