- Suspect led police on chase through Spanaway before arrest.
- Wanted man faced prior warrants and new felony charges.
A 22-year-old man is facing multiple new charges after a violent early morning truck theft and subsequent pursuit. The incident began around 4:55 a.m. on Monday when the suspect forcibly removed a victim from a Ford Maverick pickup truck in the parking lot of LA Fitness in the Parkland area. The victim's wife reported the robbery to authorities.
Tips from the public and social media sightings helped law enforcement track the stolen vehicle through Spanaway. A detective spotted the truck later that evening, initiating a pursuit when the suspect fled. The chase involved driving through various streets and parking lots before a PIT maneuver disabled the truck.
The suspect then fled on foot but was apprehended hiding under a vehicle. Investigators confirmed he was the same individual involved in the gym parking lot robbery. The 22-year-old was already wanted on several felony warrants, including escape and assault, and is now being booked on charges related to the truck theft and chase.
