Health Scammers Target Trichy Senior, Steal Gold

In Trichy, a 72-year-old woman was the victim of a brazen gold theft perpetrated by two women posing as health department employees. The incident took place at the residence of R Mangammal on Kasiyapillai Street near Kallatheru.
While Ms. Mangammal was home alone on Wednesday, the two women arrived and falsely claimed to be health workers. They asked for water, and while Ms. Mangammal was in the kitchen, the suspects stole two gold chains, weighing 3.5 and 2.5 sovereigns respectively, from a nearby box. The thieves then quickly departed the premises with the stolen gold. Trichy Fort police have registered a case and are actively pursuing the investigation to apprehend the culprits.
