The singer was attending the AFC Championship game at Arrowhead Stadium when he alleges fans began to harass him. However, Songz claims the responding officers and security personnel from Whelan Event Services instead assaulted him, wrongfully arrested him, and detained him. Neverson faced charges including trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer. These charges were all dismissed. The lawsuit accuses the KCPD and Whelan Event Services of negligence and using excessive force, causing Neverson alleged permanent injuries and professional reputational damage. This legal action follows separate arrests in December 2025 for felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor assault in New York City, over nightclub altercations. Songz's attorneys stated he is cooperating and anticipates the facts to be revealed.
