13 Apr
Summary
- Suspect climbed a tree claiming to harvest moss for Easter.
- Police enlisted a former car thief to move the suspect's vehicle.
- The vehicle was abandoned, blocking a roadway near Pendergast Park.

Bremerton police recently employed a creative approach to resolve a roadway obstruction while apprehending a suspect. An abandoned 1994 Honda Accord was found blocking traffic near Pendergast Park. Officers discovered the vehicle's owner had an active felony warrant. When confronted, the woman fled on foot and was later found 10 feet up a tree.
Remarkably, the suspect claimed she was "harvesting moss" for Easter. After being taken into custody without incident, police faced the challenge of the still-blocking vehicle. Instead of awaiting a tow, an officer contacted a former car thief to assist in starting and moving the car, successfully clearing the hazard.
