Trans woman jailed for surgeon stalking
13 Mar
Summary
- Taylor stalked surgeon for four years post-surgery.
- Surgeon feared for safety and children's lives.
- Taylor threatened to 'batter' surgeon and partner.

Vivienne Taylor, a 28-year-old trans woman, received a 14-month prison sentence for stalking surgeon Tina Rashid over a four-year period. The stalking began shortly after Taylor underwent gender reassignment surgery performed by Dr. Rashid in 2021.
Taylor developed a fixation on Dr. Rashid, engaging in persistent unwanted contact, including showing up at the hospital and sending aggressive messages. One message threatened to "batter" the surgeon and her partner. This obsession caused Dr. Rashid significant anxiety and fear for her personal safety and that of her children.
During her hospital stay for post-surgery complications, Taylor demanded treatment from Dr. Rashid and threatened self-harm if denied. The judge noted Taylor's fluctuating insight into her actions, even attempting to have charges dropped while in custody.
Taylor also contended with her incarceration in a male prison, demanding transfer to a female facility. The judge ordered her to pay a £187 victim surcharge for her actions.
