- Five individuals were arrested for selling painkillers without records.

Authorities in Andhra Pradesh recently seized a significant cache of 7,550 Tramadol injections. This action followed the arrest of five individuals in Eluru district for allegedly selling the potent painkiller without proper documentation. The State Drug Control Administration initiated state-wide inspections after discovering numerous empty injection vials and used syringes.
These inspections uncovered violations at 55 of 100 medical shops examined. Two shops in Krishna and NTR districts were found to have purchased and sold large quantities of medicine without relevant bills. Officials are taking strict legal action against licenses for illegal transactions.
The investigation revealed that fake bills were generated, and medicines were supplied to other medical shops without authorization. This included large purchases by medical agencies in Eluru, with evidence pointing to fraudulent sales to Telangana. The crackdown aims to curb the illegal transportation and unauthorized storage of Tramadol.
