Train Stabbing Suspect Faces New Charges

A man has been charged with seven additional offenses, significantly expanding the case following a stabbing spree on a high-speed train in Cambridgeshire on November 1st. The new charges, filed by British Transport Police, include attempted murder and attempted grievous bodily harm relating to incidents on October 31st.

Anthony Williams, 32, is accused of attempting to murder a 14-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man, as well as causing attempted grievous bodily harm to another 22-year-old, all on October 31st. He also faces charges of affray and possession of a bladed article from an incident at Ritzy Barbers, theft of knives, and assaulting a man on a train, all occurring on the same day.

Williams was previously remanded in custody for 10 counts of attempted murder related to the train incident that hospitalized 11 people. He is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates' Court, with the prosecution aiming to consolidate all charges at Cambridge Crown Court on December 1st. Cambridgeshire Police are also conducting an internal review of events preceding the mass stabbing.
