Tractor Spare Parts Businessman Kills Wife, Then Himself in Rajkot

On the morning of November 13th, 2025, a shocking incident unfolded in Rajkot's Nageshwar area. A 42-year-old tractor spare parts businessman, Lalji Padhiyar, allegedly shot his 39-year-old wife, Trisha Padhiyar, with his licensed firearm before turning the gun on himself in the parking area of Samet Shikhar Apartments.

According to police reports, the couple had been living separately for the past two months after Trisha's illicit relationship with her nephew, Vishal, was discovered by Lalji's family. On the day of the incident, Trisha had gone to the gym with her friend Pooja, and upon their return, an argument ensued between Trisha and Lalji in the parking area.

Lalji then allegedly loaded his gun and shot Trisha, who collapsed. He then reportedly shot himself in the head, just above the ear. The entire episode was captured on the complex's CCTV system. Trisha is currently in critical condition at Rajkot Civil Hospital, while Lalji was declared dead at the scene.

Investigations reveal that Trisha and Vishal had been involved in an affair for the past three years, which had led to disputes between the couple. Lalji had also bought a flat in Trisha's name, and she had reportedly taken cash and valuables with her when she left his home. This further exacerbated the tensions between the two.

The tragic incident has left the Nageshwar community in shock, and the police have launched a thorough investigation into the matter. Forensic experts have been called in, and the weapon used in the shooting will be sent for testing.
