A 34-year-old Norwegian tourist sustained a broken arm and had his phone stolen after being attacked by a group of eight on St Kilda Pier. The incident occurred around lunchtime on Thursday. The group allegedly assaulted the man and then threw his phone into the ocean. Bystanders witnessed the terrifying assault, with footage circulating on social media. The victim, who was on holiday, has since returned to Norway. Police are actively investigating the assault and have released images of individuals they believe can assist with their inquiries.
Investigators are seeking a woman in a red bikini and three men in connection with the attack. Descriptions include one man of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, another in his early 20s with a New York Yankees beanie, and a third possibly in his late teens wearing a Chicago Bulls jersey. The woman is described as slim with dark hair and distinctive tattoos.
