Silvagni Son Convicted of Rape
11 Dec
Summary
- Silvagni impersonated his friend to commit digital rape.
- The rape occurred inside his family's multi-million dollar home.
- He falsified an Uber receipt to conceal his actions.

Tom Silvagni, 23, the son of Melbourne AFL royalty Stephen and Jo Silvagni, has been convicted of raping a woman. He denied two rape charges, but a jury found him guilty after less than two days of deliberation. Silvagni is currently on remand awaiting sentencing.
The Crown prosecutor detailed that the rapes were committed through deception, with Silvagni impersonating his friend to trick the victim. The incident occurred in the family's multi-million dollar residence after the victim arrived late on January 14, 2024. Following a consensual encounter with Silvagni's friend, Silvagni falsely claimed the friend's Uber had been canceled and digitally raped the woman twice.
Further deception followed as Silvagni admitted to falsifying an Uber receipt to falsely suggest his friend had left later than he actually did. He also attempted to implicate his girlfriend and encourage his friend to lie. Despite defense arguments, the jury believed the victim's consistent testimony, leading to Silvagni's conviction. He faces sentencing soon.
