Tollywood Guild Secretary Arrested Amidst Allegations

Bapi Malakar, secretary of the make-up guild, was arrested on Thursday in connection with a case involving accusations of extortion and threats. This development has caused further unrest in Tollywood, following earlier revelations. An assistant make-up artist had filed a complaint alleging that Malakar and ex-federation president Swarup Biswas demanded money and threatened her for work. The complaint further stated that she was asked to compromise sexually for employment opportunities. These events reportedly transpired around August 20 last year and April 4 this year, with an alleged attempt on her life on April 10.

Following the arrest, Malakar was presented at Alipore Police Court, with police seeking his custody for further questioning. Notably, Swarup Biswas, also named in the FIR, was arrested earlier and is currently out on bail. In a recent development, the complainant took to social media, stating her intent to turn herself in to the police, asserting that she deserved punishment. Officers assured her of a fair investigation.
