- Mother arrested on murder charges for the toddlers' deaths.

Two toddlers, 2-year-old Emory Deacon and 15-month-old Harlow Deacon, were found starved to death in their mother's Ladson, South Carolina home on September 29th. Authorities confirmed the children had been deceased for approximately three to five days prior to their discovery. Their mother, Justine May, 31, has been arrested and charged with two counts of homicide by child abuse.
The children's father, Zack Deacon, expressed that the tragedy could have been prevented, stating that family and friends had raised concerns about the children's safety for days. His lawyer indicated Zack Deacon had been arrested on harassment allegations for contacting police due to fears for his daughters' well-being. May reportedly told police she had been in a "blur" and could not recall when she last fed her children in the two weeks leading up to their deaths.
