A notorious thief's attempt to conceal stolen property was thwarted when police observed an unusually large rectangular shape within his clothing. Officers in Scarborough stopped Robert Power, 44, who was found to have a rucksack crammed inside his tracksuit bottoms.
The rucksack contained a laptop, a handbag, and a purse, all reported stolen from a Roscoe Street residence earlier that day. Power, residing in Scarborough, admitted to the burglary.
He appeared at York Crown Court on Tuesday, where he was sentenced to three years and three months imprisonment, concluding the swift apprehension following his criminal act.
