In a significant drug bust, Thane police apprehended two individuals on Tuesday night, seizing a substantial quantity of mephedrone. The operation took place near a temple located in the Kalyan West area of Maharashtra.
The arrested men, identified as Ghulam Mosam Khan, 36, and Umesh Rambaram Dhuriya, 26, were found in possession of 79 grams of the banned synthetic stimulant. This confiscated drug has an estimated street value of Rs 15.8 lakh.
Authorities also recovered Rs 3,100 in cash and three mobile phones from the suspects. A case has been officially registered against them under the stringent provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
