In the early morning hours of Halloween 2020, 19-year-old Livye Lewis was found dead in her car in Hemphill, Texas. Her ex-boyfriend, Matthew Edgar, was arrested for her murder. Investigators pieced together a complex narrative involving a love triangle, abuse allegations, and a volatile relationship between Lewis and Edgar.
The investigation revealed that Edgar was married when his affair with Lewis began. Lewis ended the relationship due to Edgar's alleged abuse and infidelity, including with his ex-wife, Montana Bockel. Despite breaking up, Edgar reportedly became enraged when Lewis planned to stay overnight with another man.
