Son Arrested for Covering Up Father's Murder

Daniel Sebastian Ordonez, 31, was arrested on April 9, 2026, on charges of tampering with evidence and failing to report human remains in connection with his father's death. His father, Daniel Antonio Ordonez, had been reported missing by a relative who noticed unusual activity on his devices. Investigators located the father's phone and keys buried beneath fresh soil in a flowerpot at a rental property. Evidence of a bullet hole was found on a vehicle at the property.

At the victim's home, where he lived with his wife and son, authorities discovered a large trash bag containing a corpse. The father had sustained a single gunshot wound to the head. Forensic teams found evidence of cleaned-up blood both inside and outside the residence, along with drag marks. Records show the son allegedly used his father's ATM card to buy cleaning supplies, duct tape, a shovel, concrete, and a sleeping bag.

Ordonez denies any involvement in his father's murder or knowledge of who may have been responsible. He is currently in police custody without bond as the investigation continues. It is unclear if the victim's wife has been interviewed by authorities.
