Texas Family Sues Trucking Firms After Deadly Ector County Collision

On June 30, 2025, Christopher Eric Wilke was tragically killed in a tractor-trailer collision on State Highway 302 in Ector County, Texas. His family has now filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the trucking companies involved and the driver responsible.
According to the lawsuit, Wilke was driving westbound in a company vehicle when the truck driver, Lester Manuel Pena Feria, attempted a left turn across the highway. The truck failed to yield the right of way, colliding with Wilke's vehicle and causing fatal injuries. Wilke is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and their four children.
The lawsuit alleges that Pena Feria's negligence, including failure to yield, maintain a safe speed, and keep a proper lookout, led to the fatal crash. It also accuses the trucking companies, US Oilfield Services, LLC and Rickman Transport, Inc., of negligence in hiring, training, and supervising Pena Feria, as well as failing to implement proper safety policies.

In addition to negligence claims, the petition asserts the defendants acted with conscious disregard for others' safety, despite knowing the risks. The Wilke family is seeking actual and exemplary damages for their loss.
