Kevin D. Curry, 64, of Frisco, Texas, was found guilty by a federal jury for his role in a $26 million scheme targeting the military's TRICARE health insurance program. Evidence revealed Curry paid over $5.5 million in illegal kickbacks to persuade servicemembers and their families to undergo treatments they didn't qualify for or receive. He also falsely claimed to be a doctor and used other physicians' credentials without authorization to submit fraudulent claims to TRICARE.
Authorities stated that Curry's clinics submitted more than $26 million in false claims, with TRICARE paying approximately $17 million. The funds were used for personal luxuries, including a gold-plated Tesla Cybertruck. Curry is awaiting sentencing and could face up to 10 years in prison per count.
