A man in Shelby County, Tennessee, experienced a terrifying ordeal after being carjacked and kidnapped by individuals posing as police officers. The incident began on January 12, 2026, when the suspects, driving a dark-colored sedan equipped with law enforcement lights, pulled over the victim.
Believed to be a targeted attack, the victim was forced back into his car and driven to his residence. However, the activation of his home alarm system reportedly spooked the assailants, leading them to flee with the victim. A subsequent police pursuit ensued but was lost.
The victim ultimately managed to escape his captors and contacted emergency services from a local business. He and his vehicle have since been recovered, and he is reported to be safe.
