In Maharashtra's Palghar district, six individuals, including a woman named Mridula, are facing charges after allegedly assaulting four minor college students. The incident, which took place on June 18, originated from a minor argument in a gym.
The dispute reportedly escalated when Mridula's friend, Aaditya, confronted the students the following day, allegedly hurling abuses and threats. He then purportedly gathered them at another location with associates.
There, the students claim they were severely beaten with cricket bats and forced to touch Mridula's feet while apologizing. They also reported receiving death threats. A video capturing parts of the assault has been widely shared on social media.
Charges have been filed for unlawful assembly, rioting, and voluntarily causing hurt. One of the injured students is currently hospitalized, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
