Mumbai Rescue: Teens' 'Fun Trip' Ends in Slum Ordeal

Three 15-year-old girls from Faridkot, Punjab, were successfully rescued from a Mumbai slum after disappearing for two weeks. The students had left their homes on August 10, purportedly for school, but instead embarked on a journey to Mumbai. Their families reported them missing on August 12. Specialized police teams utilized digital footprints from the girls' social media accounts to locate them in Mumbai.

Authorities apprehended Ashwani Kaur and Ashish, who allegedly provided shelter to the teenagers in a rented room. The Faridkot police are actively investigating the possibility that the accused are part of a larger human trafficking network and that the girls may have been targeted for sexual exploitation. A case has been registered under kidnapping charges, and the girls have been reunited with their families.
