A $20,000 reward offered by Los Angeles County Supervisors has been extended for information regarding the fatal shooting of Chyler Paton, a 17-year-old graduate of Culver City High School. Paton was killed on June 18, 2025, after leaving a party at a rented home in Torrance. The home was rented for a post-school year celebration, but the number of attendees significantly exceeded the agreed-upon limit.
Family members stated that Paton was at the residence to pick up his brother when a vehicle drove by and began firing into the crowd. The Torrance Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident, which occurred last summer. As of February 4, 2026, there are no new leads in the case.
Supervisor Janice Hahn, who initially announced the reward last August and renewed it in November, re-established the incentive again on Tuesday. She implored individuals with any knowledge of Paton's killers to speak out, emphasizing the family's long wait for justice.
