8 Apr
Summary
- Teenager Tanesha Melbourne-Blake was killed in a drive-by shooting.
- The shooting is believed to be a revenge attack for gang member humiliation.
- The victim may not have been the intended target of the attack.

On April 2, 2018, Tanesha Melbourne-Blake, a 17-year-old, was killed in Chalgrove Road, Tottenham, during what is believed to be a revenge attack. The incident occurred at the end of the Easter bank holiday weekend.
Marcus La-Croix, 38, is on trial at the Old Bailey, accused of murdering Tanesha with a self-loading pistol. This attack is thought to stem from a rivalry between two gangs, the Northumberland Park Killers and the Wood Green Mob.
Prosecutors indicated that the 'ride out' was meant to result in death or serious injury, but Tanesha may not have been the intended target. Her boyfriend recounted seeing a hand with a weapon emerge from a car before hearing a rapid firing sound.
La-Croix had allegedly been assaulted and publicly humiliated less than 48 hours prior to the shooting. Footage of this attack was shared on social media, possibly as retaliation for the humiliation.
Tanesha, who had no involvement in criminal activity according to the prosecution, was walking with her boyfriend when the car pulled up. She was shot and later died despite attempts by neighbors and passers-by to help.
