Texas Teen's Body Found After Frantic Lake Search

The Georgetown Police Department confirmed the recovery of Kenley Bommarito, 18, from Lake Georgetown after he went missing from the Sawyer Park campsite. Bommarito was last seen on the night of November 28. His body was located using underwater sonar, bringing an end to days of searching.

Authorities deployed significant resources in the search, including canines, boats with sonar equipment, dive teams from multiple agencies, a helicopter with thermal devices, and trained volunteers. Police stated that an investigation into the precise cause and manner of death, as well as the surrounding circumstances, is currently active.

Bommarito had been camping with a friend, who reported him missing on November 29. His mother, who had driven from San Angelo to assist in the search, expressed her anguish. The campsite's location, surrounded by scattered trees and accessible by boat or hiking, typically experiences winter temperatures around 40°F.
