Teen Stabbed to Death Outside Birmingham Mosque

A murder investigation is underway in Sandwell, Birmingham, following the death of a teenager in an incident outside a mosque. Police were called to the Jamia Masjid mosque on Smethwick Road shortly before 9 PM on February 20.
An 18-year-old male, identified as Zeeshan Afzal, was discovered with serious stab wounds in the mosque's car park and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency services, including multiple ambulances and critical care paramedics, attended the location.
Two other men, aged 19 and 22, were transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. At this stage, the authorities are not treating the stabbing as religiously or racially motivated.
West Midlands Police are actively pursuing leads, reviewing CCTV footage, and appealing to the public for any information. Witnesses or individuals possessing mobile phone or dashcam footage related to the incident are urged to contact the police, quoting log number 4896. Additional officers will be present in the area to provide reassurance to the community.
