A 19-year-old apprentice and part-time DJ, son of influencer Ruth 'Roo' Oxley, has received a suspended prison sentence for attempting to smuggle approximately £2,000 worth of drugs into the Creamfields festival in August 2024. Police discovered MDMA and Ecstasy stashed inside a Pot Noodle after a drug dog alerted officers.
Corbishley pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply and unlawful cannabis possession. His defense highlighted his naivety and immaturity, presenting numerous character references. The judge suspended his two-year sentence for 24 months, also imposing a curfew, community service, and rehabilitation requirements.
He was chosen by friends to carry the drugs, believing his smaller bags made him less likely to be searched. Despite his plea of not being paid, the judge emphasized the risks and the commonality of such offenses at the festival, urging Corbishley to value the second chance provided.
