A 15-year-old girl, Lilly Jane McCarthy, died shortly after being found unresponsive at a residential property on January 24. An inquest at Norfolk Coroner's Court heard the provisional cause of death was MDMA toxicity, the chemical term for ecstasy.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Great Yarmouth, but Lilly passed away after arriving at James Paget University Hospital. A full investigation is planned, considering evidence from police and medical professionals.
Two men, Nathan Laffitte and Kian Lockett, have been charged with supplying MDMA to Lilly and another teenage girl. They appeared at Norwich Crown Court and were remanded in custody. Prosecutors are considering further charges linked to Lilly's death, pending post-mortem and toxicology results.
Lilly's family described her as a "bright, happy and funny girl" whose loss has left their hearts "completely broken." A provisional trial for the accused is listed for July 27.
