A 17-year-old boy in Dudhari village, Chandauli district, displayed extraordinary courage late Sunday night when he confronted a group of six thieves attempting to rob a house. The teenager, identified as Monu Kumar, woke as the intruders were fleeing with a stolen box.
Monu valiantly pursued and apprehended one of the thieves in a nearby field. Despite a struggle, he held onto the burglar and shouted for help. His accomplices returned, firing a weapon at Monu, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound. However, he continued to hold the thief until villagers arrived.
Responding villagers apprehended the caught thief and rushed Monu to the hospital, but he tragically died during treatment. Police have secured the arrested thief and are intensifying efforts to locate the remaining suspects. A diary and mobile phones were recovered from the apprehended individual.
