Mushroom-Fueled Driver Smashes Through Garage

A 19-year-old driver is facing potential charges including driving under the influence and hit and run after a bizarre incident in unincorporated Bremerton. Authorities responded to a report of a car crashing through a closed garage door at an apartment complex on Northeast Steeple Rock Lane shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Eyewitness video captured the moment the vehicle burst through the garage and collided with a parked car. Deputies suspect the driver was under the influence of hallucinogenic mushrooms. After the crash, the driver fled the scene but returned within minutes, where law enforcement took him into custody.

Fire crews later located the vehicle crashed in a ravine less than a quarter mile away. The suspect refused a field sobriety test, leading deputies to obtain a warrant for a blood draw. Potential charges include DUI, hit and run, malicious mischief, and obstructing an officer.
