Despite the suspect reportedly saying he would surrender, he fled through the back of the house, leading to a pursuit. During the events, one deputy was shot. Cordarius Hobbs was ultimately taken into custody after being shot by a Mississippi state trooper, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
