Afshan Qureshi, 50, was arrested after allegedly slapping a student in early October. Shortly over a month later, 38-year-old Tony Reid was charged by Gwinnett school police for purportedly grabbing a student's arm in November. Both individuals now face misdemeanor simple battery charges.
As former educators, Qureshi and Reid have been released from jail on bond under specific conditions. The school principal stated that due to the active nature of these investigations, further details could not be disclosed. Parents have been informed about the ongoing situations.
