Accused double murderer Beau Lamarre-Condon's activities in the days following the alleged deaths of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies are under scrutiny in the Supreme Court. CCTV footage presented to the 15-person jury showed Lamarre-Condon dining at Sushi Train in Cronulla on February 20, 2024, the day after the alleged killings.
In the subsequent days, Lamarre-Condon attended a day surgery appointment on February 21 and made multiple trips to Bunnings, where he purchased a wheelbarrow and quick-set cement. There is no dispute that he disposed of the bodies in Bungonia, near Goulburn, later that week.
The court heard the accused allegedly used a friend's Instagram account to send Baird a false message about having cancer. Further testimony revealed Lamarre-Condon took a friend on a drive to Goulburn on February 21, during which she observed a blue tarpaulin in the van and he instructed her to turn off her phone.
Crown prosecutor Brett Hatfield, SC, stated the friend who dined with Lamarre-Condon would testify that the accused mentioned needing to find a skip bin. Later that night, Lamarre-Condon dumped belongings at a skip bin at Cronulla Bowls Club, with CCTV showing a rented white van returning to the location.
Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Crown alleges premeditated murder of Baird and that Davies was killed as a witness. The defence claims accidental deaths during a struggle and Davies shooting himself, with Lamarre-Condon acting in self-defence after an earlier visit to Baird's home.
