Suspect Arrested in Fatal Phoenix Apartment Shooting

On November 15, 2025, a fatal shooting occurred at a north Phoenix apartment complex, leading to the arrest of 42-year-old Craig Poorthunder. Around 2 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting near 19th and Northern avenues. At the scene, authorities discovered an unidentified man with at least one gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead.

Detectives interviewed Poorthunder and subsequently identified him as the suspected shooter. He was then arrested and booked at a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of second-degree murder. The police have not yet released any information about the connection, if any, between Poorthunder and the victim.
