A man was arrested on Friday at the High West Saloon in Park City during a CAA-hosted celebration at the Sundance Film Festival. The uninvited guest, described as caucasian, allegedly engaged in a disturbing, racially charged incident. He reportedly expressed pride in being "white" in the restroom before leaving and punching a person of color.
Security staff detained the individual, and the Park City Police Department subsequently took him into custody. While the incident was described as unsettling by some, not all guests were aware of the altercation. The Summit County Sheriff's Office has not yet released information on his current status.
CAA is a significant entity at Sundance, with many client projects premiering and the agency assisting with film distribution. This year's festival is notably the final one to be held in Park City. Beginning in 2027, the Sundance Film Festival is slated to relocate to Colorado.
