Sugar Ray Leonard Seeks Restraining Order Against Drug-Addicted Son

Sugar Ray Leonard is seeking legal protection from his 25-year-old son, Daniel, who he claims has been battling a drug addiction for at least eight years. The boxing legend detailed Daniel's escalating destructive behavior in court documents filed recently. This included wrecking five family cars within the past year, with one incident involving a hit-and-run. Daniel also reportedly experienced four overdoses, two of which necessitated emergency medical intervention to revive him.

Leonard further alleged that his son has been stealing substantial amounts of money and valuable items daily for years. He described a physical altercation on May 19, where Daniel pushed him, leading to police intervention and the issuance of a temporary restraining order. The son was arrested the following day for allegedly violating this order.

In his request, Leonard stated, "I love my son but he has become a danger not only himself but to his family!" He noted that his wife and daughter, Camille, are extremely fearful. A judge approved most of Leonard's requests but requires further information to include Camille as a protected party. A hearing is set for next month to determine permanent measures, and Daniel also has a court date regarding his arrest.
